As part of the Resources Registered Training Organisation Association Inc (RRTO), Axial Training will offer standardised training programs in line with RS11.
Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) throughout Queensland have joined forces to form a new industry association that aims to set quality benchmarks in training for the resources industry.
The Resources Registered Training Organisation Association Inc (RRTO) will offer a standardised training program in accordance with the new Recognised Standard 11 for training in coal mines as set by the Queensland Mining Safety Inspectorate.
The courses will be available from July 1, 2011.
RRTO aims to ensure that all member RTOs offer consistent, independent and industry specific training that is aligned to the highest level in safety standards and quality assurance.
Association President Mr Tony Mapp said the RRTO was formed because the foundation member RTOs saw a need for greater quality assurance and consistency in the delivery of training provided to the resource industry.
“With Recognised Standard 11 now in place, RRTO has coordinated the development of a standardised training package, (RRTO Induction – Standard 11 Coal) enabling member RTOs to offer a consistent, high quality product across the resource industry.” said Mr Mapp.
“As RRTO is a member driven association, membership fees would be invested to provide ongoing quality assurance and product development.”
“This means both industry and individual workers can have faith that they are receiving the high quality training when it is delivered by RRTO members,”
RRTOs charter is to provide:
- A quality product which is accepted by industry;
- independent auditing and confirmation of training quality;
- a method for skills development which may lead to qualifications for participants; and
- a path in the industry for inexperienced applications.
The first three programs to be launched by RRTOs will include a three day RRTO Induction – Standard 11 Coal, a four day underground program and a refresher course.
